Coincidence or Conspiracy?

Conspiracy theories are fun. They are like true crime novels, and they get you thinking.
Ted Goertzel wrote “Belief in Conspiracy Theories” which was published in Political
Psychology 15: 733-744, 1994. In his paper he explained how few had examined the psychology of those that believe in them. He stated,
Nor has there been any previous attempt to discover the psychological or sociological correlates of belief in conspiracies.
He summed up the obvious in the beginning of his paper,
People who believed in one conspiracy were more likely to also believe in others.
I often say that “I don’t believe in coincidences.” Too much NCIS I guess. But what happens when the facts start to get in the way of logic?
I recently received three different emails from three different people with links to three different articles all claiming the same thing. This was so far out there and – given the national security connection – I had to look in to it.
Friday December 31, 2010 John P. Wheeler III, the former Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force, later, the Special Assistant to the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Logistics and Environment, was murdered and his body was found dumped in a landfill in Delaware.
New Years Eve in Arkansas 3000 to 5000 red-winged black birds fell from the sky. In a town not far away up to 100,000 dead fish washed up on shore on Monday.
Could these three obvious separate incidents have any link to one another? Well, here is a twist that would make Alfred Hitchcock proud. One of the articles I received was from the EU Times,
A shocking report prepared for Prime Minister Putin by the Foreign Military Intelligence Directorate (GRU) states that one of the United States top experts in biological and chemical weapons was brutally murdered after he threatened to expose a US Military test of poison gas that killed hundreds of thousands of animals in Arkansas this past week.
Here are the facts, according to Associated Press via the Washington Post,
BEEBE, Ark. — Environmental service workers finished picking up the carcasses on Sunday of about 2,000 red-winged blackbirds that fell dead from the sky in a central Arkansas town.
Mike Robertson, the mayor in Beebe, told The Associated Press the last dead bird was removed about 11 a.m. Sunday in the town about 40 miles northeast of Little Rock. He said 12 to 15 workers, hired by the city to do the cleanup, wore environmental-protection suits for the task.
The birds had fallen Friday night over a 1-mile area of Beebe, and an aerial survey indicated that no other dead birds were found outside of that area. The workers from U.S. Environmental Services started the cleanup Saturday.
The number of birds has now been estimated to be between 3000 and 5000 depending on the report. The article explained that first thoughts were lighting may have caused the birds death,
Arkansas Game and Fish Commission ornithologist Karen Rowe said Saturday the birds showed physical trauma, and speculated that “the flock could have been hit by lightning or high-altitude hail.”
In a later report the cause was fireworks. According to USA Today,
It was someone shooting off professional grade fireworks in a residential district, scaring the night-blind birds out of their roost into a 25-mph flight that ran them into houses, signs and even the ground, says Karen Rowe, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission ornithologist.
Of course we have all seen birds falling out the sky every July fourth, right? Not to mention we can see from the photo how they would have flown into those tall buildings.
Days later hundreds of more birds were found dead on a highway near Baton Rouge, The Associated Press reported,
First, New Year’s Eve fireworks were blamed in central Arkansas for making thousands of blackbirds confused, crashing into homes, cars and each other. Then 300 miles to the south in Louisiana, power lines likely killed about 450 birds, littering a highway near Baton Rouge.
So first its lighting, then fireworks and now, days later it’s the dreaded power lines.
MSNBC reported on the dead fish,
State officials on Monday were investigating why 80,000 to 100,000 fish washed up dead on the shores of the Arkansas River last week.
The mass kill occurred just one day before thousands of blackbirds dropped dead from the sky in Beebe, Ark., which is 125 miles away.
ABC News reported the findings on the lab tests and autopsy of the birds,
According to preliminary testing released late today, the trauma was primarily in breast tissue, with blood clots in the body cavity and internal bleeding.
Interestingly, according tothe Department of Health and Human Services Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry website the exposure to phosgene gas will cause,
Direct toxicity to the cells leads to an increase in capillary permeability, resulting in large shifts of body fluid, decreasing plasma volume.
Insufficient oxygenation of arterial blood and massive accumulation of fluid in the lungs may be accompanied by cardiovascular and hematological signs.
Destruction of red blood cells in the pulmonary circulation can cause capillary plugging that leads to strain on the right side of the heart and death.
In layman terms, the findings of the birds death is exactly the same as exposure to phosgene gas.
Newsweek referred to the death of John Wheeler as “perplexing”,
The murder of former Pentagon official John P. Wheeler III, whose body was found on New Year’s Eve in a Delaware landfill, has been baffling since it was first discovered. But the more facts that emerge about his mysterious death, the more perplexing it seems to become.
According to John Wheeler’s bio,
Mr. Wheeler graduated from West Point in 1966, serving as a staff officer in Vietnam, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the Joint Staff before leaving active service in 1971. While on active duty, he authored the first Biological and Chemical Joint Munitions Effectiveness Manual and the analysis supporting the President’s decision that the U.S. will not use biologicals. He was also on the Red Integrated Strategic Operational Plan Team to test the Single Integrated Operational Plan. He was Secretary, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, on the team that worked major insider trader investigations and consultant to the acting Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics regarding tankers and other issues.
Since 2009 Wheeler was a consultant to Mitre Corporation.
There is no doubt that Wheeler had an interest in the use by anyone of biological weapons. Mitre Corporation describes itself on its website as follows,
MITRE manages Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs): one for the Department of Defense (known as the DoD Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence FFRDC), one for the Federal Aviation Administration (the Center for Advanced Aviation System Development), one for the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (the Center for Enterprise Modernization), and one for the Department of Homeland Security (the Homeland Security Systems Engineering and Development Institute).

So how does this conspiracy explain how these chemicals would have been released? According to the article from the EU Times,
Wheeler was hired in 2009 as a consultant to the Mitre Corporation, whose aviation system development department, the GRU reports, is at the forefront of creating the computer command and control systems used by the US Air Force in their fleet of aerial spraying planes.
These aerial spraying planes, this report continues, are based at the Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas that over the past few months have been involved with ‘test dispersants’ of poisonous gasses in the Afghanistan War Theater using chemical weapons stocks obtained from Iraq and held at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, also located in Arkansas.
Little Rock Air Force Base describes itself as follows,
Little Rock Air Force Base is the home of C-130 Combat Airlift. The 19th Airlift Wing is the host unit which reports to Air Mobility Command. The 314th Airlift Wing, an associate unit, reports to Air Education and Training Command. Another unit, the 29th Weapons Squadron, also reports to Air Combat Command. Additionally, the 189th Airlift Wing of the Arkansas Air National Guard is located here. The 189th reports to Air Education and Training Command.
Here are some facts on Pine Bluff according their own website,
Pine Bluff Arsenal is located in the mid-south region of Arkansas.
Serving the needs of the joint warfighter and the citizen, a full spectrum logistics center providing expertise in specialized munitions and chemical-biological defense products and services.
Okay, that’s something to ponder “specialized munitions and chemical-biological defense products and services.”
Thus far, everything I researched from this article is factual, except (and this is a big except) for the connections. The only thing I cannot confirm is whether or not such a report was actually prepared for Prime Minister Putin by the Foreign Military Intelligence Directorate.
One would assume that proof of such a report would clinch it. I doubt the Russians would bother to write, let alone give to Putin, the former KGB head, a report that cannot be substantiated full of theories.
If, and I say if, there had been even an accidental release of any type of harmful gas in the area, would someone with John Wheeler’s background, government clearance and education not be privy to it or at least maybe figure it out and question it?
Considering John Wheelers past history of being against the use of chemical weapons is it not likely he would have wanted to get that information out to the public?
And then there is the biggest if of all… Would any group or our own government actually murder someone to keep things quiet?
There is no doubt that we have all the makings of a murder mystery with intrigue, government spies, secret weapons and hit men. Oh, and lets not forget the civilian population that may have been exposed to all this. Then again, why have no people died yet?
So, there you have it. Too many coincidences or too many facts?
You don’t believe that your government could be involved in such a thing? Perhaps, but then again there are theTen Proven US Government Conspiracies”. Read them at your own risk. You are likely to believe more.
Authors Note: It must be said that John Wheeler III was much more than a public servant who served honorably both in the military as well as under 3 different Presidents. His work with charitable organizations was beyond admirable.   Mr. Wheeler also served as Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (1979 – 1989). Many have stated that had it not been for his undying commitment and work the Vietnam Veterans wall in Washington, D.C. would never have been built.
He also served as the Chairman and CEO of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (1983 – 1987). In 1993 he created the Vietnam Children’s Fund and served as CEO until his death.
Mr. Wheeler will be greatly missed and we hope that those responsible for his death will be found and convicted.

Bird deaths in U.S., Sweden, Britian, Thailand, Brazil and beyond

It began with five thousand dead red winged blackbirds on New Years Eve in Arkansas. Then  dead birds continued to fall in other states. Then massive fish kills began popping up across the globe.

Now it is officially a worldwide phenomenon. So far bird deaths an massive fish kills have been reported in the United States,  Sweden, Britain, Japan, Thailand, Brazil and beyond. The deaths have included doves, red winged blackbirds, spot fish, jellyfish, snappers, jackdaws and more.

Many religious extremists are warning the end is near. Religious bloggers have loaded sites with bible verses such as:Hosea 4:1-3: “The land dries up, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea are swept away.”

Wildlife specialist, however state that there is nothing at all apocalyptic about these events.

Specialists keep  a log on their websites with reports of groups of birds dying each week, averaging from dozens to thousands.

In Arkansas they are blaming fireworks and stress for the bird deaths. In Louisiana they believe cold weather might have killed off over 500 birds.

In Maryland the death of over 2 million spot fish is being blamed on an unusual cold snap combined with over population. Spot fish do have a difficult time surviving in colder temperatures.

The many other fish and bird deaths are still under investigation,

The National Wildlife Federation says that the most common cause of mass bird deaths is disease usually through pollution.

Perhaps just a coincidence, but everywhere deaths have been reported whether it be bird or fish fracking for natural gas and Marcellus shale is taking place. Just another bit of information to ponder.

It will be several days before autopsy reports are back on several of the bird and fish,

Bird death mystery solved: they ‘drank’ themselves to death

Authorities in Romania say dozens of starlings died of alcohol poisoning, not avian flu as feared.

Romeu Lazar, the executive director of the veterinary health department in the Black Sea port of Constanta said on Wednesday a post-mortem revealed the birds ate grape residue that had fermented and their bodies could not handle the alcohol.

He says they did not have avian flu, which hit the area several years ago.

Constanta residents found dozens of dead birds on the outskirts of the city last week. The reports come as other, larger bird deaths were reported in the United States and elsewhere.

Scientists say mass deaths of wildlife happen regularly, and are usually unrelated and unreported.

200 Dead Cows Found in Portage County Field

An investigation is underway after 200 dead cows were found in a field at 8055 4th Avenue in the Town of Stockton.
According to the Portage County Sheriff’s Department, the owner of the cattle has been working with a local vet and it’s believed the animals died from the IBR/BVD virus. The virus can cause respitory and reproductive problems.
Samples from the dead cows have been sent to Madison for testing.
Portage County authorities say there is no threat to humans or other animals.

Mass bird deaths – omen of disaster?

Scientists from the USA, Canada, Italy and Sweden are trying to establish the reason for mass bird deaths. The main cause of concern is that weather conditions and other circumstances of the life of birds in different countries are different.

People are putting forward various explanations: the birds were frightened by Christmas fireworks, or they received a lethal doze of radiation from mobile operators’ boost stations. Another possible reason is electromagnetic waves preceding earthquakes. In all the versions, we can trace not only concern about environmental malfunction but also fear for the future of mankind. We asked Amirkhan Amirkhanov, the deputy head of Rosprirodnadzor, the Russian Environmental Agency, to help us understand this natural drama.

“I am far from believing that we are approaching a kind of universal catastrophe, because in different countries birds are affected by different factors. For example, jackdaws, crows and sparrows spending winters in Europe stay together in flocks. They can have been poisoned by toxic substances thrown away on dumps or by bad food which people give them in wintertime. The recent very rare atmospheric anomaly can also have played a part. It was very warm in the upper atmospheric layers and there was frost on the ground. Apart from that, birds are more sensitive to drops of pressure than people. If the reason is an infectious disease people can help birds, even if it is difficult.

It is natural that when people see masses of dead birds they do not only feel sorry for them but also ask themselves whether this is an omen of forthcoming disasters for humans. We cannot rule out that the birds’ deaths were caused by viruses dangerous to humans as well.

Russia has not seen mass bird deaths this winter yet. However, we are not sitting back and relaxing. A great trouble both for humans and animals is the unauthorized dumping of garbage on roadsides and in the woods near towns, which is not treated in time. Now we are taking steps to improve the situation.

“In any case, the current natural anomaly with birds makes the task of protecting the environment even more important both on the national and global scale,” said Amirkhan Amirkhanov in conclusion.

Massive bird kill in Turkey

The Turkish authorities are investigating the mysterious death of thousands of starlings at a highway in the town of Karacabey.

Starting on New Year’s Eve, several cases of massive bird and fish kills were registered in Sweden and Italy, as well as in the United States, where some 4,000 blackbirds fell from the sky near the town of Beebe in Arkansas.

371 Dead Birds Fall from Sky on LA’s Sunset Blvd; Similar to California, Arkansas, Louisiana Bird Drops

371 dead birds fell from the sky over Los Angeles, California, and hit the pavement at Sunset and Cahuenga. In the great shadow of the CNN building laid scattered hundreds of pigeons, most of them dead.
This is another incident of dead birds falling from the sky, as has been seen in California, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Sweden, Italy, and other places around the world.

If today’s dead bird incident had been a singular event, we could have blamed Los Angeles smog. 371 birds could no longer take the poor air quality and decided to choke and fall.

The bird drop happened just after noon, and word of mouth passed quickly. I heard about the horrific event from my neighbor, who happens to whistle when he talks and has a goiter on his neck. By the time I arrived at Sunset and Cahuenga, confusion was in full swing and the homelesses were busy picking up the dead birds and stuffing them into their dirty jacket pockets.

The dead birds in this incident were exclusively pigeons, but for the homelesses, they were food. One man had already cleaned his fowl and was arguing with a hot dog vendor about frying it on his hot dog grill. The homeless held a bloody knife and shook the pigeon in the vendor’s face. The pigeon’s entrails hung at least a foot from the pigeon’s slashed belly. The guts swayed as the homeless man passionately pointed his knife at the hot dog grill.

In front of the CNN building was pandemonium. Someone had wished bad luck on these pigeons, and the evidence was strewn all around. Dead birds in the gutters, on sidewalks, stuck in palm trees that dotted the front of the famous news building. Traffic on Sunset had come to a crawl. Jeering faces peered out of car windows, and multiple cars had been rear-ended.

Now 300 dead birds fall from the sky in Alabama (how much longer can scientists keep saying this is normal?)

Up to 300 dead birds have been found on the side of an Alabama highway in the latest mass animal death to be reported.
The bodies of the birds, identified as grackles, were found strewn along the I-65 highway.
Grackles have also been found dead in their hundreds recently in Arkansas, Louisiana and Kentucky.
It appears that the birds died of blunt force trauma – possibly from being hit by a truck, wildlife biologist Bill Gates told local news station WAFF.
grackleA common grackle. As well as Alabama, the birds have also been found dead in Arkansas, Louisiana and Kentucky

He drew his conclusion from the feathers scattered across the snow, which was bloody in places.
A collision with a big rig is also believed to be responsible for the deaths of over 100 birds whose bodies were found at the side of a California highway last weekend.
One witness to that incident said it ‘looked like they were committing suicide’.
The Alabama deaths are just the latest in a series of mass animal deaths around the world that have spurred conspiracy theories all over the internet.
First, the blackbirds fell out of the sky on New Year’s Eve in Arkansas. Then it was two million fish in the Chesapeake Bay, 150 tons of red tilapia in Vietnam, 40,000 crabs in Britain and other places across the world.
Blogs connected the deadly dots, joking about the ‘aflockalypse’ while others saw real signs of something sinister, either biblical or environmental.
The reality, say biologists, is that these mass die-offs happen all the time and usually are unrelated.
Federal records show they happen on average every other day somewhere in North America. Usually, we don’t notice them and don’t try to link them to each other.
The most recent incident of birds dying took place in Alabama, in the U.S.The most recent incident of birds dying took place in Alabama, in the U.S.

‘They generally fly under the radar,’ said ornithologist John Wiens, chief scientist at the California research institution PRBO Conservation Science.
Since the 1970s, the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Wildlife Health Center in Wisconsin has tracked mass deaths among birds, fish and other critters, said wildlife disease specialist LeAnn White.
At times the sky and the streams just turn deadly. Sometimes it’s disease, sometimes pollution. Other times it’s just a mystery.
In the past eight months, the USGS has logged 95 mass wildlife die-offs in North America and that’s probably a dramatic undercount, Dr White said.
The list includes 900 some turkey vultures that seemed to drown and starve in the Florida Keys, 4,300 ducks killed by parasites in Minnesota, 1,500 salamanders done in by a virus in Idaho, 2,000 bats that died of rabies in Texas, and the still mysterious death of 2,750 sea birds in California.
On average, 163 such events are reported to the federal government each year, according to USGS records.
And there have been much larger die-offs than the 3,000 blackbirds in Arkansas. Twice in the summer of 1996, more than 100,000 ducks died of botulism in Canada.
Littering the beach: The bodies of two million spot fish have washed up on the shores of Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, after unusually cold weatherLittering the beach: The bodies of two million spot fish washed up on the shores of Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, after unusually cold weather earlier this month

‘Depending on the species, these things don’t even get reported,’ Dr White said.
Weather – cold and wet weather like in Arkansas New Year’s Eve when the birds fell out of the sky – is often associated with mass bird deaths, ornithologists say.
Pollution, parasites and disease also cause mass deaths. Some are even blaming fireworks for the blackbird deaths.
So what’s happening this time?
Blame technology, says famed Harvard biologist E.O. Wilson. With the Internet, cell phones and worldwide communications, people are noticing events, connecting the dots more.
‘This instant and global communication, it’s just a human instinct to read mystery and portents of dangers and wondrous things in events that are unusual,’ Wilson told The Associated Press on Thursday.
‘Not to worry, these are not portents that the world is about to come to an end.’
Wilson and the others say instant communications – especially when people can whip out smart phones to take pictures of critter carcasses and then post them on the Internet – is giving a skewed view of what is happening in the environment.
The irony is that mass die-offs – usually of animals with large populations – are getting the attention while a larger but slower mass extinction of thousands of species because of human activity is ignored, Wilson said.

This was posted to my FB wall- it’s very interesting and also supports the theory tat chemical weapons were involved and the U.S.gov’t was trying to cover this up (and Wheeler knew about it all)

even Wheeler’s bizarre behavior explains much if the facts in this videoabouta certain chemical weapon are accurate. worth watching

Explanations For Beebe Falling Blackbirds Are Incorrect
    1. There is no GRU report! GRU does not publish anything. This is incorrect.
    2. Birds have never been killed by lightning. Google it. Did anyone find any fried birds in Beebe? NO. This is incorrect.
    3. Same for hail. Has never happened. Try to find it ! This is incorrect.
    4. Same for sucked up by a storm. Has never happened. Birds do not get beamed up. Go look for it!
    This is incorrect.
—— ALL of the above explanations are incorrect————–
    5. An event like this has NEVER happened before. Birds die from eating something that kills them
or from poisoning. That why the cleanup people were wearing the white suits.
    6. There is real radar data. The birds flew off their roost multiple times before the killing event. That’s
BEFORE the event. Something was disturbing the birds for HOURS before the event.
    7. The area where the birds fell is known.
    8. No damage to the roosts has been found.
    9. No illegal purchase of fireworks has been found.
    10. This is a UNIQUE event. “This has happened before” is an incorrect statement.

Apparently the agencies are content with the explanation of blunt force impact. The question of what caused the impact remains unanswered. Birds found dead in the middle of the street did not hit houses or anything else. Birds found dead on the tops of houses did not hit the houses or anything else. Death by blunt force is not caused by electromagnetic interactions of any king. Electricity causes burns. No burns were found.
